Tony Howell

General Manager, Head Professional & Pro Shop Owner

Tony Howell has been part of Mosman Park Golf Club for more than 25 years. A member of the Australian PGA since 1994, he became Head Professional in 1997 and was appointed General Manager in 2012, a role that also includes overseeing Club functions and events. He owns and operates the on-site Pro Shop, which provides members and visitors with a full range of golf essentials, equipment, and services.

Playing and Coaching Background

Tony has a strong background in both tournament play and coaching. Over the years he has regularly competed in Pro-Ams and tournaments throughout Australia, keeping him closely connected to the professional side of the game.

In 2006, Tony attended a seminar with renowned Australian coach Gary Edwin. Edwin’s teaching philosophy — based on creating correct body angles at set-up to simplify the swing — shaped Tony’s own approach to golf. He went on to become an accredited coach in the Right Sided Swing method and refined his knowledge through regular visits to the Gary Edwin Golf Academy at The Glades on the Gold Coast. Although he no longer provides coaching at Mosman Park, Tony remains a AAA rated PGA Professional.

Contribution to the Game

Beyond Mosman Park, Tony has contributed to golf in Western Australia and nationally. From 2008 to 2010 he served as Chairman of the PGA in WA and NT, and he was also a member of the PGA of Australia’s Vocational Council during this time.

Today

With decades of experience in golf and Club management, Tony continues to ensure Mosman Park Golf Club is run professionally while offering members and guests a welcoming and well-supported experience both on and off the course.
